Our Screening Process

How to join us

Become part of the Trust-Care Staffing team

The health and social care sector has strict compliance processes and, as a fully regulated Registered Nursing Agency, we have designed our screening process accordingly.

But that’s not all we’re looking for. To improve the lives of the people in need of care, we want all our carers to have:

  • The right mindset to deliver skilled and personal care to every individual they’re working with
  • The right expertise and training for the specific role, e.g. epilepsy or palliative care

As part of our team, our carers are ambassadors for Trust-Care Staffing. So we are looking for like-minded individuals to join us in our goal to create excellence in care. Read on to find out more about our screening process below.

What we need from you:

  • Proof of ID & address
  • National Insurance & visa documents (where applicable)
  • SSSC registration or NMC PIN
  • PVG membership number
  • Relevant training & qualification certificates
  • 2 healthcare references
  • Bank details

What to expect

After your initial application, we will guide you through the four stages of our hiring and registration process:

Stage 1: Skills assessment & interview

After your application, we will invite you to do a short skills assessment to establish where your strengths are and what training you’ve had in the past.

After a bit of paperwork, we will have a chat to find out more about your background and availability, tell you more about the work we do at Trust-Care Staffing and answer any questions you might have.

Stage 2: Reference checks & PVG update

Once we have all the necessary documents and forms, we will be contacting your references and update your PVG membership.

We always try to complete this stage of the process as quickly as possible, but as this is managed by Disclosure Scotland, it is subject to their workloads.

Stage 3: Induction training

After the interview and skills assessment, we will book you in for your induction training, including any additional social care training we might need you to complete before starting your work with us.

This free training will be conducted by our sister company, Trust-Care Training, through fully compliant and regulated in-house social care training courses.

Stage 4: Ready to start

Once you have completed all stages successfully, you will get your contract, ID badge, tunic and staff handbook.

We will then confirm your availability and book you in for your first shifts!
